I'm someone who's put a great deal of hours into both variations of RuneScape, and from my experience I believe that OSRS is much more"cover to win". Posting this here since I am not sure the other subreddit would appreciate it much

In RS3 There's the monthly god statues, which provide 40k free con xp per month(at lv 70. Experience scales) Or I could do Wilderness Warbands, which could give up of 240k free con xp a day in lv 70. Or I could look for some money making ideas. It is possible to locate [methods] which make around 10m an hour that do not need any stats over 70. So 6 hours of this and you Have Sufficient gp for 99 con)
Or you can invest $21 and market bonds. So approx $3.50 for every hour saved. On OSRS when I have 0gp how can I train structure? You can't. You Will Need GP. And if you're low/mid level your choices for money-making are not great. You're earning less than 1m an hour if you look for methods which don't require anything greater. So you're looking to get cash. This isn't currently contemplating skills that are non-buyable. Since RS3 has treasure hunter you have the ability to buy xp lamps in any ability. I guess I do see this as a training method that is very viable.
Some components are simpler here, some parts are more easy there. The distinction is that osrs is more time consuming. Also RS3 has bigger variety of moneymakers that are decent, making RuneScape feel considerably more easy for this. Additionally, the free methods of training abilities are usually high level, and dont consider degradation and supply price (if its combat, like the example you said for prayer). It's technically not free, there is an initial cost for equipment and supplie (which you'll receive back later on easily) but with 0 gp you won't be able to do it.
They're"pay to progress faster". Reach the endgame will have stuff unlocked, if you purchase bonds, and gp, you may advance faster. This can be true to both games, but gear wont make you be able to solo raids or kill gwd effectively in osrs, and it will neither make you immediately have the ability to kill Araxxor, Telos, etc. Simply because RS3 has gamble mtx, which can be raw xp in most of the circumstances, it is considered more p2w, but in reality, they just help you unlock things faster, and also make your progression less grindy.
Combat is way more easy in osrs, compared to RS3. Less things to listen to, etc. Both game has their distinct"difficult items to pull out" in battle, but the skill ceiling is a lot lower in osrs. As they arent just less afk any different or grindy skilling is just as easy as in RS3. Nothing is specially difficult besides maybe end. RS3 imo has down that hands other but thats a demon that is different. There is nothing and every personality has AOE capabilies especially when added to soul split. Even with it being farther into RuneScape. Theres lots of methods to Max battle through abyss with bloodstream neck.vamp aura to readily become maxed very quickly all afk clicking every 5mins to reset agro or using agro pots.
With osrs certain you've got nightmare zone, but the exp rates of the are 60-100k a hour clicking every 20mins with battle potions or maintaining 1hp with orb/rockcakes. Every single day of the week I would conduct RS3
winrsgold. I could max combat in perhaps a couple weeks all fashions in RS3 without having to spend much money and maintaining the worthiness of my equipment without having to use considerably runes or ammunition because theres options like gaives DRL and stuff. I'll bring RC to get OSRS up cause its dumb. However, every ability requires yield that is less and hours. Even the methods of RS3 the equates to money earned are the exp per hour than osrs. Sure its only wait and click, however, the is"difficulty" in RS.
